How to protect your videos from being stolen.

Using streaming protocols vs. progressive download by nature makes it a bit harder to steal your videos as the video is transmitted in packets instead of as a file. However this is not enough, and you should take the following three additional measures:

  1. Make sure Deny HTTP access to media folder is selected in your Settings page.
  2. Make sure you have enabled Domain Whitelisting by listing which domain(s) are authorized to stream your content. To enable domain whitelisting simply add authorized domains ot your Security page.
  3. Contact support and request that they enable RTMPE protocol for your account. RTMPE protocol is the same as the RTMP protocol except the streaming is encrypted.

Please note that enabling encrypted streaming switches both your hosted videos and live broadcasts to use the RTMPE protocol
