When using OnyxServers Multi-bitrate streaming feature, viewers have the option to manually change the video bitrate (quality) via a bitrate selection menu found on the video player. Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR) on the other hand instructs the server and video player to work together and automatically shift the bitrate up or down as needed. This is done by monitoring the users available bandwidth, free buffer, and dropped frames.
